It’s nice to have some news to report for the Alfa Romeo GT. For 2011, a beautiful Limited Edition Alfa GT is available – unique to Australia. There is a limited run of 100 vehicles, and it will be the last Alfa Romeo to be powered by the iconic 176 kW 3.2 Litre Quad Cam V6.
Alfa GT Limited Edition features Limited Edition design 18″ Alloy wheels with red brake calipers, satin effect wing mirrors and front grille and comes with rear parking sensors as standard. The dynamic style continues in the cabin, with the aluminium sports pedals, sports leather seats, leather steering wheel and black instrumentation – stylish and timeless.
Standard features include: Dual Zone Air Conditioning, Bose Hi-Fi System, Leather trim, Cruise Control, Remote central locking, Rear parking sensors, 18-inch alloy wheels, Sport pedals, ABS brakes with EBD and VDC, and front, side and curtain airbags.
This is the most complete front-wheel-drive sports car you can buy. The colossal speed and handling prowess that the Alfa Romeo GT V6 possesses ensures that the car has what it takes for the enthusiastic driver.
Not many cars on the road can create the same level of interest surrounding the car’s sleek, low profile looks. This is the best looking nose on a production car in the world, and boasts a divided front bumper at the centre – in which the large arrowhead Alfa grille sits plumb in the centre. The very low air dam and air induction spoilers along with the trim headlights are arranged perfectly to harmonize the curves running the entire Alfa Romeo GT V6 exterior. Fat 225/40 tyres surround gorgeous 18-inch multispoke alloys, finishing off the superior Italian design.
Fire the V6 engine into life and the snarl is evident at the slightest pressure applied to the accelerator. Alfa Romeo know how to create an involving driving experience, and in the new Alfa Romeo GT V6, the perfect ingredients of high speed, balanced handling, superior road holding and interior comfort are blended in to a near perfect experience. Aggressive power peaks out at 176 kW, and the 300 Nm of torque is available at 4800 rpm. Needless to say, the mid-range performance is astounding and highly addictive. Find the right piece of road, and you can accelerate from a standstill to 100 clicks in a mere 6.9 seconds and thrust your way all the way up to around 250 km/h. Winding roads are a blast, and overtaking slower moving traffic is oh-so-easy!
Inside, the interior is very nice – just as you would expect. The attention to design and detailing found on the GT’s exterior is carried through into the Alfa Romeo GT V6 cabin. Pleasant curves, easy-on-the-eye lines, tactile surfaces and sensual cloths make for an athletically elegant interior that is totally unique from any other car on the road. So pleasing is the Alfa Romeo GT V6 interior, you become instantly attached to the Italian styling. Loads of excellent luxury items are offered in the car. As you may have already guessed, the Alfa Romeo GT V6 has premium leather seating. The car also has a trip computer, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control air conditioning, electric front windows which boast a driver one-touch function, 60/40 split rear seats and a handy storage compartment in the rear armrest. Crisp alloy sport pedals, and stainless steel kick plates add to the race appeal.
Without a doubt, your kids will love being dropped off at school in one of these machines. I recommend playing a Schiller CD up loud on the eight-speaker audio system to complete the perfect picture. However you are pumping out some serious sound waves from the GT’s Hi-Fi Bose sound system which has MP3 capability and a grunty subwoofer. The boot space is pleasantly useful, with 320 cubic litres available with the seats down, and 905 cubic litres with the seats folded flat. You best have this space handy too, as the number of friends your kids will have lining up for a lift home after seeing the GT will be no small number! Loading height into the boot space is nice and low too.
The sprightly Alfa Romeo GT JTS models are every bit as good when it comes to the handling criteria. The smaller 2.0 litre engines might be down on the raw power of the GT V6, however the performance is still way up there and the pricing is very competitive.
Perhaps this is the best sporty hatchback money can buy. You best take a serious look and see just how incredible the sexy Alfa Romeo GT V6 is to drive. Private Fleet can easily jack you up with one of the world’s true driving sensations.
