Waking up to a day where the sky isn’t blue is sometimes a rare phenomenon in Australia. However, the days do come when the sun doesn’t shine and the rain starts to fall. Gloomy days can be warmed up and made friendlier when driving to work on a rainy day in Ford’s very nice Territory TS.
It all starts in the Ford Territory’s roomy cabin. The kids can be dropped off to school on the way. Even if you’re one who has more than the average 2.5 kids, the Ford Territory TS has the magnificent practicality of being able to carry seven occupants – including the driver. What could be more entertaining on a wet day than having six chatty kids on the way to work? This is a sure fire way of helping the day get of to a good start.
Yes, the comfy interior of the Ford Territory TS is roomy – one of the roomiest in its class. And, you’ll be pleased to know that onboard the Territory TS is no less than an amazingly useful 30 storage compartments. No excuses for not keeping the cabin tidy! Well equipped, you can sit back in the driver’s seat and listen to your favourite music on the stylish, and very groovy, high-output premium audio system which boasts a colour screen and a six-disc in-dash CD. The musical grunt comes from a 150 watt amplifier and sub-woofer set-up. The material on the seats is a very plush Launceston Cashmere cloth trim with Miller suede Cashmere bolsters. In other words, the seats are incredibly nice to sit in.
Of course, if the weather is a little grey outside, then inside the big Ford Territory TS the high-tech automatic climate control with dual zone temperature control can keep the warmth up to all occupants – even the kids in the back row. Electric windows and keyless entry complete the Territory TS package off nicely. For the driver, a chunky leather covered steering wheel has cruise control and audio control buttons mounted on the steering wheel for making effortless changes to sound and speed.
The silent and luxurious interior lets in the faintest audible sound of the sweet running six cylinder power pack. This engine is a honey to use with all the power available on instant demand. The vehicle can come in RWD or AWD form, but what is common to both versions is the effortless 190 kW DOHC 4-litre engine. The powerful motor has all the pulling power to head out on an outdoor adventure pulling the boat, the luggage and the entire clan. First class torque is available from only 2500 rpm. In fact, a maximum of 383 Nm is at the ready, and really the passing ability of the large Ford Territory TS is quite outstanding. Cruise control is a must for those who may be prone to running on past 120 km/h.
Handling prowess is a must for large SUV type vehicles like this one, and this is an area that the Ford Territory TS masters superbly well. Virtual Pivot Control Links hold the front end of the Territory TS level under hard braking and cornering. And speaking of stopping power; short braking distances are part and parcel of this vehicle’s excellent driving dynamics. Sedan-like to drive, the Ford Territory can be pushed hard and flat through corners.
Superbly safe, there are as many as sixteen premium safety features onboard making the Ford Territory TS one of the safest machines on the road.
This is a drive that will make any wet day enjoyable. Test the Ford Territory TS out and be impressed.
