Awesome – this is a business van with some very cool looks. I bet you’ll want to be seen in this one! Hyundai have created a stunning looking cargo van that replaces the iLoad and the iMax range and it’s called the Hyundai Staria Load Van. It has to be the narrow LED DRL strip along the front of the van that really portrays a bit of that science fiction vibe that I like the most about the new Staria’s design. The huge grille underneath the strip runs the full width of the Staria Load Van’s face and it looks rare and strangely attractive, particularly with the block headlamps at each corner.
The new Hyundai Staria Load Van will look smart for all occasions. It sits on some really nice 18-inch rims, which keep the van looking interesting on the side view. Around the back, the appearance is neat and, again, attractive for a big cargo logistics van. Two lengthy vertical LED taillight clusters are at either corner of the Staria’s back end, and there is a nice mesh pattern over the lights at the back.
At around $47k the Hyundai Staria Load Van can be bought new, and, for a tad more, the Crew Van asks around $56k to drive away with you. Having the extra few seats for passengers is ideal if you need to take the work crew and the gear to places all around Australia’s busy business network.
A key fob opens the doors, and climb up into the driver’s seat and the seat feels very comfortable. The dash is simple and elegant with its piano black trim. A very good infotainment touchscreen graces the centre of the dash. The driver gets a cool pop-up style digital driver’s display, and the ergonomics from the drivers, and, for that matter, the front passenger’s seat is very good. On the central display screen you can get all the modern features like GPS navigation, mobile phone integration, Spotify, Apple CarPlay, climate control functions, Digital radio, six-speaker audio controls and lots more.
Front seat occupants have access to the ports for the tech we often bring with us to work. Wireless phone charging and connectivity is a standard feature. Cup-holders and bottle storage is present throughout the two Staria Load Van options.
For a commercial van, the safety tech is at the highest levels: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot collision avoidance, lane-tracing, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, safe-exit warning, active cruise control, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and bird’s eye view cameras are standard. Sorted for safety then!
This new Load Van from Hyundai, though similar to the Staria passenger/family Van, is purely a van for the cargo van division, which brings the same space-age looks but is entirely focussed on the commercial side of business. Offered in two–seater or five–passenger form and able to carry 2890 litres of cargo or three Euro pallets, you’re sorted for work requirements. The Staria Load Van comes with payloads up to 1090 kg, and also is rated with a 2.5-tonne towing capacity.
This is a big van, and you feel like you’re lording it over other road users, however, the relaxed, confident road holding, and effortless cruising ability, makes the all-new Staria Load Van a very likable van for getting the job done. The brakes deliver strong stopping power, and you never feel lost or unsettled with the way the big cargo hauling van steers. Hyundai have done a great job in getting the ride comfort and road holding areas sorted, and the FWD 130 kW/431Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine is a gem and right up to the task of getting stuff from A to B reliably and effortlessly day in and day out.
A 5 year/unlimited km warranty along with 1 year of roadside assist comes as part of the deal on a new Hyundai Staria Load Van. Resembling a spaceship with its curvaceous body and low belt line, this is the Cargo/Load Van you want to be seen in this year. I’d be wanting to drive one of these, purely because it looks so cool!
