While enjoying a beer at the Grenadier pub in London, INEOS Chairman and 4X4 enthusiast Sir Jim Ratcliffe had the idea of creating a no-nonsense, utilitarian 4×4.  Fast forward from this moment, and the INEOS team formed in 2018. Through the perfect recipe of British design and German engineering precision, they designed and created what we now know as the incredibly awesome INEOS Grenadier 4×4. 

INEOS is a global entity involved in manufacturing, chemicals, sport, clothing and now automotive.  There’s a good chance that you’ve used one of INEOS’s products already, as they are fairly big players in the arena of plastics such as PVC and PET.  They’re also involved in hydrogen, natural gas and oil, but are responsible about it, investing into carbon storage as well. 

As this company has been involved in the petrochemical industry, as well as many others, and has been a player in the world of Formula 1 racing as a partner with Mercedes, it’s almost inevitable that they have now turned to making cars for the everyday buyer.  And yes, Mercedes have provided some input into the design of INEOS’s vehicles, as they are targeting different sectors of the automotive market.
