So, first of all, I’d have to say that the INEOS Grenadier vehicles are in class of their own, in a niche league of vehicles built capable of tackling the most serious off-road environments.  That having been said, the Grenadier handles the smooth highways with ease.  These are exciting vehicles to drive on-road, while being ready for any adventure you’d care to take off the beaten track.  Having been bestowed with serious 4×4 capability right from the onset and the looks to match it makes the INEOS Grenadier a force to be reckoned with.

What lies beneath the INEOS Grenadier’s handsome and rugged looks?  There’s a full box-sectioned ladder frame, a galvanised steel body, and Carraro beam axles for both the front and rear chassis.  Built onto this tough base are items like the heavy-duty coil suspension for the toughest terrain, a two-speed transfer case (low and high), a central differential lock for maximum traction, and front and rear skid plates for the ultimate in undercarriage protection. 

The permanent 4WD system is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission with a manual override gear for superior cruising ability.  The power comes from the legendary and inspiringly good BMW 3.0-litre inline-6 motor. Off-Road and Wading modes also come as standard fare to help you in various challenges that surface along the way.  The Pathfinder Off-Road Navigation system is an excellent feature to have when going bush as well.  It really helps guide you map the way forwards.

A serious off-roader is going to be all work and no play, right?  Not so with the INEOS Grenadier.  To give you an idea, the base model INEOS Grenadier Stationwagon comes with a ‘hot’ set of Recaro seats that are designed for superior comfort both on- and off-road.  A central control system displays itself centre dash as a 12.5-inch touchscreen.  Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard kit, so your smartphone keeps you seamlessly in touch with your favourite apps.  And there is also Bluetooth hands-free calling as well as music streaming.  The adventure beyond the black stuff needn’t be dull at all!

Other excellent features are the handy rear-view camera, perfect for the off-road challenges as well as the shopping trolleys in the carpark.  The parking distance assist also comes in handy in these sorts of situations.  As the 2024 INEOS Grenadier comes kitted out with an excellent set of LED headlights, your night driving vision is superb, perfect for lighting up the forest tracks by night, and all the resident nocturnal moths and wildlife.  If that light doesn’t cut the mustard, then bring out the big guns and switch the set of LED auxiliary high beam lights on for that extreme outdoor night vision. 

The station wagon models get 30:70 split rear doors for access into the big boot space.  And if you need to carry more luggage, then a nice set of roof rails and roof protection strips ensure that you can carry way more gear for that outdoor adventure gig.  The INEOS Grenadier also comes with a full-size spare wheel, and there are strong towing eyes front and rear – should you need to help your mates out who’ve got stuck dragging the chain.
