A quick look in the dictionary reveals that the word infinity means boundless and limitless in number, extent or time. What a great meaning for a name of a special car marque. The Infiniti brand that has its roots in Japan creates upmarket cars sold by parent company Nissan, and boasts cars with premium luxury, style and performance.

Infiniti cars were born in the early 1990s, where Nissan sought to create premium vehicles for the American market. Honda had their premium Acura cars and Toyota created premium Lexus models for America, and similarly Nissan ventured into America with their Infinity brand of cars.

In their first year, Infiniti produced the Q45 sedan and the Smart-looking M30 coupe and convertible cars. Soon after, Infiniti provided the base G20 model, which was essentially a much higher equipped Nissan Primera sedan.

The nineties also saw the introduction of some very fine Q45 luxury sport sedan models. These were impressive cars in their day, and they offered a V8 engine that rivalled BMW 7-Series, Mercedes Benz S-Class and Jaguar XJ cars. The Q45 boasted almost 400 Nm, 207 kW and a 0-100 km/h sprint time of under seven seconds. Late model Q45 cars were very well equipped cars and provided a quality ride to match the top performance.

In 2003, Infiniti had created a car that was to be the stylish design that provided the attraction Americans were after. The midsize G35 offered a stylish identity that the Q45 lacked, and with the same platform that was used in the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan were great handlers and captured strong sale success.

Infinity also produced the FX35 and FX45 SUV-type vehicles. SUVs were vehicles that people all over the globe were starting to warm towards, and Infiniti’s SUV was a very stylish crossover SUV that provided lively acceleration and sports-car handling with the convenience of added wagon space.

It’s exciting to see Infiniti cars in Australia, where officially the brand arrived in September of 2012; and 2013 is the year that’s set to see Infinity truly rolling forward in Australia. If you are in the nearby vicinity of Brisbane or Sydney, do stroll on down to the Infiniti Centre Brisbane or the Infiniti Centre Sydney where you’ll be met with a top array of Infiniti models that offer a large slice of class in the SUV, passenger car and sports car brackets. The company’s two launch models, the bold Infiniti FX performance crossover and stunning Infiniti M sedan, were joined this month by the dynamic Infiniti G37 Coupe and G37 Convertible. This first landing of Infiniti models will quickly grow, as new exciting models arrive on the scene.

We’ll keep you posted as new Infinity models arrive on our shores. Infiniti vehicles are a class act, and the quality built into these machines is exceptional.
