Super stunning looks provide the owner with a motorcar that can be described as being “something very special”. Ford, in recent years, has bought the right to own the Jaguar marque. And, particularly with the Jaguar XF, has successfully designed and built a premium motorcar worthy of the big cat’s emblem.

From the large xenon lights and sculptured air dam to the sensual c-pillar, large curvy hindquarters and large, fat twin tailpipes, the Jaguar XF is designed for high speed travel in quiet and refined luxury. The stunning XF’s design is well proportioned and looks right. Undoubtedly, the Jaguar XF is one of the best looking cars on the road. Sitting on beautiful alloy wheels, the Jag XF has ample width for securing a firm paw print on the road. There are a number of visually striking alloy wheel designs depending on one’s taste; however, you can be sure that whichever style you choose, the patterns are in keeping with the overall beautiful swooping lines of the big cat. There are a number of 18 and 19-inch rim designs. But reserved for the supercharged SV8 only, are the sexy Volans 20-inch alloys which come as standard – making it the only car in its class to have 20-inch alloys as standard. Being this well shod hints at the capability of the supercharged engine, within.

Slip inside the delightfully crafted interior and you will discover that beauty is not only skin deep. The confident and luxurious Jaguar XF cabin is purely stylish and spacious. All the leather, aluminium and veneer work provide a very gratifying and sensuous cabin ambience. An occupant will feel that they are enjoying a contemporary luxurious suite with a crystal chandelier and thick oriental rugs; such is the voluptuousness of the big cat’s interior. Inside the cockpit, the driver will appreciate the simple design of the black on white analogue speedometer and tachometer. The beautiful sweeping design of the dash-work incorporates a combination of very intelligent and user friendly instrument controls that are highly sophisticated and yet pleasantly simple. Whether you drive the luxury or premium luxury versions will dictate what leather type will be under the seat of your pants. One would suggest that the luxury version will be more than enough for even the most discerning buyer, but with the premium version, the buyer will have true luxury appropriate to the “crème de la crème” in automotive design.

Safety options are from the top shelf, as you might have already guessed. The front occupants have airbags in the front and side. Harnessing yourself into the seats is certainly no hardship with top of the line pre-tensioning seat belts front and rear. There are side curtain airbags front and rear to keep you safe in a ding, too. The ABS braking system puts the clamps on very swiftly, clawing the big Jaguar XF in with an uncanny effortlessness. Two cutting edge safety features that the Jaguar XF has are the superb Pedestrian Contact Sensor that automatically deploys a bonnet system to minimise the injury levels on impact, and the Cornering Brake Control System, which aids the magnificent control and balance that the Jaguar XF has on the road.

Whatever the choice of Jaguar XF you drive, all engine units are going to be highly refined and satisfying in their work. There is the highly acclaimed and smooth 3.0-litre Diesel and the up-rated 3.0-litre Diesel S, the quiet 3.0 litre V6 petrol, and the hard charging 5.0-litre V8 petrol variant. However, sitting at the top of the power ratings is the XFR 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine that makes extremely short work of any speed work, running directly through to its limited top speed of 250 km/h. Boasting 375 kW of grunt, nothing much passes it on the road.

This is a true high-end automotive machine. And the Jaguar XF looks one of the most striking saloons on the road, too.
