Absolutely gorgeous Lexus Lines and a front schnozzle that is hard to beat in the luxury car game, the brand new 2019 Lexus ES is something really special to behold.  Ok, the grille on first impressions might look a bit like a Baleen-whale’s krill filtering system but when all is said and done don’t the ES designers make a styling statement here.  The grille also reminds me of a curvaceous lady at the midriff; and those crystal headlights with L-shaped DRLs are beautiful.  Lots of chrome, nice angles and air vents all make a sparkling picture at the front of the new ES sedan.

Move down the side of the car, and the new ES is long and low, with the roof-line sloping beautifully towards the rear of the car.  Nice panel crimping accentuates the car’s elegance.  And when we get to the rear of the car the 2019 Lexus ES design doesn’t pack it in, and so we have a sleek LED taillight design with a wraparound chrome strip and a tidy boot spoiler.  Right down at the bottom is a rear skirt with another chrome strip for added visual impact.

Slip inside the luxurious interior and it’s all about indulgence.  Who needs an LS when the ES should easily suffice.  Loads of soft leather and a premium dash with an interesting multi-layered design keep the style-and-flair theme going from the outside of the car.  The craftsmanship is absolutely impeccable, and you get all the latest automotive technology on-board your new Lexus ES sedan.  Hand-stitched leather is very classy.  Also Lexus seat comfort is the best in the business.

For those who want more Sport in their Luxury package, there is the 2019 Lexus ES F Sport versions which boast a criss-cross black grille and air dam vents, 19-inch smoked alloy wheels, F Sport badging, Darker exterior chrome, a stunning red leather interior with sport/luxury seats, F-Sport interior accents, aluminium pedals, a sports steering wheel and metal interior trim inserts.  I love it; it’s a gorgeous blend of red sport luxury inside, and you do feel really special driving an F Sport ES sedan.

What about room?  There’s lots of it in the new ES sedan.  Front seat occupants enjoy electronic seats with memory control, while for those in the rear there is loads of space with the seats being exceptionally nice to sit in.  Even in the rear there is heaps of leg and head room for adults.  You can opt for having the new Lexus ES providing reclining rear seats with controls situated in the centre arm rest, and there is even options for digital screens set into the rear of the front seat head rests for entertainment value.  Shade screens can be pulled across rear seat windows – really handy for babies on-board.

Three-point seat belts for all rear seat passengers, curtain airbags front and rear, as well as side and front airbags for those in the front ensure that the ES has the best modern safety features available.  Adaptive radar cruise control, Lane Keep Assist, Parking sensors, Emergency brake detection are all modern features that help keep the ES at the top of its game in the question of automotive safety.

The front seats are really comfortable, and when you add the superbly soft touch points for where your elbows rest upon and the lovely soft steering wheel surface this is a very sumptuous drive.  Electrically operated steering, electric temperature controlled seats, zoned climate control and front seat memory functions, all make the driving experience as luxurious as they come.  If you love premium audio, the brand new Mark Levinson sound system is brilliant – it’s as good as they get.  So for all you music lovers here’s the heads up!

A hybrid version of the latest Lexus ES sedan is what’s are on the menu – and it’s beautifully smooth and powerful.  In hybrid form the 2.5-litre, four cylinder petrol motor combines with a new electric motor and power control system, which when working together make around 165 kW.  Hybrid versions are capable of less than 5 litres/100 km which really is impressive fuel economy.
