New to the market, and creating a heap of interest, is Mazda’s beautiful CX-5. One glance over the Mazda CX-5 bodywork and you quickly appreciate the small SUV’s gorgeous looks and sleek lines. Stylish, spacious, efficient and responsive, you’re going to like the Mazda CX-5’s complete package.
The range of new Mazda CX-5 vehicles provides a choice of AWD models that provide top grip in all weathers, as well as a couple of FWD models which are a little cheaper to purchase. Common sense would suggest that if you’re not going up to the ski fields or heading out across muddy tracks, that you’ll only ever need the FWD models in reality. While the Mazda CX-5 AWD versions offer great acceleration through the corners in the wet, the FWD models offer lots of grip for the everyday drive, anyway. What all Mazda CX-5 models do offer is a quality ride that has impressive balance and accurate steering. While travelling over tarmac, noise levels inside the plush interior are well muted.
The Mazda CX-5 is a very modern SUV that has all the latest technology to make your drive enjoyable and safe. SKYACTIV Technology is the latest engineering on-board the Mazda CX-5 that harmonises engine, transmission, body, and chassis behaviour. Superior performance and handling push the Mazda CX-5 into the top of its class. Mazda has implemented lighter and stronger componentry – even the resin used in the bumpers is ground breaking, lighter and as strong as the conventional materials.
Two fresh engines make their mark in the CX-5, with a superior level of performance and efficiency shown in the way they get down to business. One engine is a 2.2-litre diesel and the other a 2.0-litre petrol. You’ll notice that there is plenty of torque available with the turbo-diesel. Its power output is a sprightly 129 kW, while torque is a class leading 420 Nm. Drive the petrol version, and smooth progressive performance is the order of the day. Of the two, the diesel has the extra kick for the sportier drive. Six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions are available. If you do want the Diesel engine, you’ll find it in the AWD models.
Safety features are premium items on the Mazda CX-5. We all want a car that provides the best features available to ensure that our family, and those close to us, are kept as safe as possible. Curtain airbags, a rear-view camera, lane departure warning systems, ABS, EBD, EBA, TCS and more make the CX-5 a class act.
Space and comfort are hallmarks of the Mazda CX-5. Packed with features that will entertain, relax or pamper you, your journey in the Mazda CX-5 is always enjoyable. Dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth (hands-free compatible) communications, cruise control, cupholders, a headlamps auto on/off function, interior illumination for map reading and power windows, leather trim, an overhead sunglass storage box, satellite navigation (TomTom), electronic seat adjustment and a trip computer are some of the things you can expect for your drive.
In each of the Mazda CX-5 models a USB and Bluetooth compatible audio system with CD is standard. Maxx models get six speakers, while the Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring gets the 231 Watt Bose audio system with nine speakers for crystal clear sound. Check out the flash shark-fin aerial for superior radio reception. It also looks cool, complementing the Mazda CX-5’s sexy exterior looks.
