As expected, MG have indeed expanded their hugely likable MG HS model range with the introduction of two AWD models.  Both the MG HS Excite X and Essence X come with AWD, giving the MG HS another string to its talented bow.

The MG HS AWD variants have the same striking lines and body shape of the FWD models.  The small SUV design is one of the best looking on the market and boasts plenty of chrome trim and a set of stunning diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels that look good from any angle.  The Excite and Essence trims have the same level of features that the equivalent FWD versions offer and therefore they both come loaded with plenty of amazing features.  The chrome trimmings continue to the inside of the vehicle, with the interior door handles, air vents and steering wheel highlights all covered in the elegant finish.  An electric tailgate is included as standard on both the Excite and Essence, however the Essence has a full leather interior that looks and feels as good as any interior you would find in vehicles twice its price.  The MG HS AWD Essence X also gains a stunning panoramic sunroof and sports front seats with heating and electronic adjustment .

Your new MG HS AWD small SUV has a loaded cabin, with features like a 10.1-inch colour touchscreen with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a six-speaker sound system all as standard.  It will also boast 4 USB charge points, dual-zone climate control, rear air-conditioning vents and a cooling function for your water bottles or other beverages.  On a more practical note, tall adults will even find the rear seat space quite accommodating, and 463 litres of luggage space is available with the split-fold rear seats up; 1454 litres with them folded down flat.

The ‘Super Sports’ mode delivers the best power and torque levels for a spirited drive.  The MG HS has nice and light steering, while the visibility all the way around the vehicle is good.  Of course, the 360-degree camera makes life even easier in the Essence models.  Opt for a good quality tyre like Michelin, and the AWD MG HS delivers good road holding and a fun drive.  The power and torque levels are well-linked to the right foot pressure that’s applied on the accelerator and the small SUV offers a fun drive down a back road, where the vehicle is more than capable of scampering passed the legal road limits with ease.  The adaptive cruise control reigns that temptation in nicely.
