We’ve discovered the new 911 GT3 is available for purchase now in Australia.  All those who like to drive to work one day and hoon on track days the next will enjoy the arrival of the extremely fast new GT3 Porsche.  Plentiful power and agility give this car a delightful ability to eat up other supercars on the track – especially when there are loads of corners involved!  This is an update rather than a full-scale brand new model, but there’s plenty of new stuff to get excited about –the biggest one to shout about is the sensational 4.0-litre monster that lies within and shoves this thing along.  With new engine design boasting a new crankshaft, air intake system, cylinder head and new valve train, there has been heaps of modern technology placed inside the latest 4.0-litre flat six-cylinder motor.

It takes a fair bit of plucky courage to push the 368 kW and 460 Nm engine to the full, as the speeds it’s capable of are well beyond what one experiences in the average family size SUV.  Growing to 4.0-litres but still a normally aspirated engine, the Porsche 911 GT3 sounds absolutely awesome.  Once you get used to the insane speeds, the new 911 GT3 is nothing but a race track bully, being able to slip passed rivals at will.  The flawless handling leaves you flabbergasted at how well the new 911 GT3 brakes, gets around corners and then powers away.  You’re not left clueless as to what the car will do mid corner, but what you get is a growing feeling of awe and respect at how well the GT3 slips through the apex.  Nice flat cornering, sensational power and loads of acceleration are hallmarks of the 911 drive, and in the 2017 GT3 guise it’s all good!  Commiserations go out to the other supercar rivals because the Porsche 911 GT3 is a roguishly quick machine.  An excellent direct connection between the car and the driver is paramount to a successful quick performing racer, and this is what Porsche do so well.

These new Porsche 911 GT3 cars are motorsport bred cars that hold so much clout when it comes to racing.  These are highly successful cars that are made with racing genes right from the word go.  The new Porsche 911 GT3 has been designed, built and tweaked where the Cup cars are made.  A lightweight construction, active rear steering design, and an especially nice aerodynamics package that still boasts a bold rear wing made out of carbon are the latest additions for 911 design.  A six speed race-bred manual transmission has been added, or you can choose the standard seven-speed PDK transmission – the PDK being the perfect tool for getting faultless race starts every time.  It also matches the strong power delivery perfectly to the gear change for optimum timing and performance.  PDK Porshce 911 GT3 cars can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds!  Top speed is around the 320 km/h.

If you are a Ferrari or Lamborghini fan, this sort of positive feedback regarding the new Porsche 911 GT3 might be sounding a bit hellish to your ears, but it’s the truth of the matter and the reason why Porsche continues to sell so many new 911 cars each time a new model come along.  These are race pedigree cars that are tried and tested in the heat of racing.

Porsche 911 GT3 cars are two-seater cars with sports bucket seats that are comfortable and supportive, and are electronically adjustable for the cushion height and backrest.  A luxury-biased Sports Seat with 18-way electric adjustment is also available.  Porsche has adopted the latest interior upgrades from the other 911 Series 2 variants, including a new infotainment system and a smaller diameter steering wheel.  Porsche’s Connect App that links a smartphone to the infotainment system is exclusive to Porsche GT3 owners.

Model 2017: the new GT3 looks outstanding and I think gains some ground again in dynamic looks and 911 beauty.  Greater use of a dark mesh grill around the front nose looks really nice and aggressive with the big air scoops looking forceful.  Speaking of force, Porsche were able to create more down force without getting anymore drag through the air, so this has really enhanced the handling at higher speeds once again.

Purely entertaining and quick, the 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 sets new road and racetrack standards.
