Skoda has well and truly embedded itself nationwide. Skoda dealerships pop up all over Australia, and so it’s a ‘piece of cake’ to experience Skoda’s quality cars and excellent after-purchase service. There is, most definitely, a dealership near you. Skoda are also one of a few manufacturers that back their product to the hilt, and this is why you will enjoy a long and magnificent 5 year/unlimited km warranty. Now you can’t argue with that! Skoda’s Fabia is the latest model to arrive to Australia, and it such a great little car to have around.
Jump inside the Skoda Fabia, and very quickly there is an air of quality about the way Skoda does things. Fit and finish of the interior materials is excellent, and the textures and design are eye-catching. There is a nice feeling of familiarity when seated inside the Skoda Fabia cockpit. The steering wheel fits snugly inside your palms. The odometer and tachometer are easy to see, while the neatly placed switchgear on the dash facia is simple to use and long lasting. Steering wheel mounted controls, air-conditioning with pollen filter, electric windows, telephone connection, cruise control and an eight-speaker stereo system set a high standard, right from the outset.
A quick fiddle with the glove box reveals a clever two-levelled compartment, making it easy to store plenty of stuff for the journey ahead. Throughout the Skoda Fabia cabin are plenty of ingeniously designed storage compartments. Such good use of space is clever. Things like a ticket holder on the A-Pillar, bottle holders in the front passenger’s and driver’s door pockets, map pockets, upper dashboard storage and luggage hooks all work to make the little Skoda Fabia huge on practicality and big on space.
Skoda Fabia is also big on safety. Each of the Skoda Fabia models come standard with six airbags. A helpful little gizmo is the Skoda Fabia’s parking sensor system. Breezing in and out of tight city car parks is made that much easier with the parking sensor that monitors the distance of the rear bumper and the object behind. A lot of talk has been made about the prevention of whiplash in a serious accident. Skoda has equipped the Fabia models with height adjustable head rests in the front and rear of the car.
Whether you like being conservative or whether you like to be bold and brazen, the Skoda Fabia has a beautiful array of exterior colours to choose from. Bright yellow, vivid green and striking red appear exciting anf fresh, while the Pacific Blue and Satin Grey are very refined and sophisticated. The Skoda Fabia’s nice compact lines match the exerior colours perfectly to provide a very smart, very attractive small hatch for the judicious owner.
Grab yourself a Skoda Fabia to drive, and you’ll be impressed with the Fabia’s solid handling, nice ride and responsive engine. The turbocharged petrol engine knows how to get along and remain economical. The 1.2-litre size ensures that visits to the fuel pump are few and far between. A 5.5 litres/100 km average fuel consumption is class leading, while the 0-100 km/h sprint time is around the ten second mark – remarkable for such a small, yet willing, little engine.
