For a car that’s nimble and perfectly suited to city life, the new Suzuki Celerio is an ideal runabout. If you like things in small packages, the new Suzuki Celerio will more than likely make you smile. Simple and effective design works, and in the small little Celerio you’ll notice that the car shows itself off with a neat interior and some excellent practical functionality. The Suzuki Celario has been designed primarily for the city/town, yet it has the ability to tackle country roads when the need arises.
Superb fuel economy is one of the pluses in owning the little Celerio, and you should expect a return of under 5 litres/100 km. Once fired up, the new Suzuki Celario is a master of quick inner-city acceleration and easy city driving. No space seems too small for the little wagon to slip into, and it’s very easy to park with a turning circle as small as 4.7 metres! Actually, this would make a great vehicle for someone to learn to drive in. Ride quality and control is good for such a small car, and you can fit two adults snuggly in the rear seats.
Dash design is simple and well thought out, so all the switchgear is right at the driver’s fingertips. A nice u-shaped chrome trim surrounds the centre dash, and in the middle of the dash sits the display screen for the MP3 compatible audio system. Easy to use buttons and knobs control the car’s heating system and radio functions. The dark grey plastics used in the dash and console area are easy on the eye, while the speedometer and rev counter are clear. Seated in the driver’s seat, the visibility is good over the bonnet, and you have a good view down either side of the vehicle through the use of some excellent wide wing mirrors. Entry into the Suzuki Celario is via the keyless entry feature, and the Celerio also comes with some great standard features like air-conditioning and a Bluetooth audio system.
The rear seat backs can be split folded flat to allow for larger luggage to be carried. With the rear seat backs in place, 254L of luggage space is available. There are also some handy hooks for holding shopping bags and other items in place. Suzuki has designed a new 50 kW, 1.0-litre petrol engine for the Celario, and the aerodynamic shape slips through the air with ease. Two transmissions are available: an automatic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and a 5 speed manual. The blend makes for a zippy drive.
Suzuki has safety in the Celerio covered, and the features include: six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) for extra collision safety. The advanced braking technology uses ABS, EBD and BA to keep the car well controlled in the event of emergency braking.
Suzuki build great small cars, and the Celerio is another new model with the urban drive in mind. If you’re needing a good, cheap car for about town, then you can’t go past the Celerio.
The current Suzuki Celerio model series includes the:
