The nice thing about driving a new Toyota is that you know what you are going to get. With the current model Toyota Hilux, the simple, functional layout with readable dials gives a sound ergonomic and safe design across the dash and instrument panel. Superb seats and nice touches of chrome add a touch of class to the well put together interior. Smooth, efficient engines provide a wide supply of power right when you need it. And the top engineered components provide long lasting characteristics.
The all new Toyota Hilux is a built-as-tough-as-they-come ute. Three well designed engines power the range. Built big, the latest Hilux is very practical, and you can use them at the builder’s site, to go to the races or to pick up the kids – and it’s stylish enough to turn the heads in the process.
Want something solid and exciting for both on the road as well as off-road? Check out the new Toyota Hilux pickup. With the reputation of Toyota dependability behind it, the Hilux will surpass your needs with fantastic performance, handling and comfort.
The new Hilux looks superb from any angle and comes in many different models. The single cab 2WD models are the comfortable, no-fuss workhorses. The dual cab 2WD models are the same, except they offer a bench seat in the rear for when some workmates need to tag along for the ride. The Toyota Hilux Dual Cab models offer the complete package of style, comfort and space all in the one rugged package – 2WD and 4WD models are available.
Performance in any of the current range of vehicles is powerful and class leading. It starts with the 2.7L VVT-i petrol motor that is linked in the 5 spd manual cab chassis. The next on the list is the very powerful 4.0L VVT-i V6 petrol engine that can be linked to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearbox. However, the 3.0L turbo diesel engine is perhaps the strongest of all. With a maximum power output of 126kW @ 3600rpm and a maximum torque of 343Nm, which kicks in at an incredibly low 1400rpm, you will show many rivals up in the performance stakes. The diesel engine is suited to the 4X4 option superbly, although the petrol versions are smooth responsive units that can make the Toyota Hilux kick some dirt up off-road. A Hilux off-road is a Hilux hard to follow. These utes are very, very capable off the beaten track. Their ruggedness is legendary. For those who need a workmate that can rough it but just can’t bear to be without premium performance, the all new Toyota Hilux TRD is an absolutely amazing option. Who would have thought that you could find so much supercharged muscle in a tough working ute design? Toyota have managed to pack 225 kW into the TRD Hilux. And – wait for it – a massive 453 Nm is on tap. It doesn’t seem right to mention that the humble Toyota Hilux, in TRD form, can tackle the 0-100 km/h time and complete it in just a mere 7.2 seconds. This tough ute has some serious street credentials!
When you review the interior of the Toyota Hilux, you’ll find comfort and security, with a choice of bucket or bench seats with cloth or canvas coverings, air conditioning, power steering, windows, locks and mirrors, an AM/FM security coded audio system with an MP3 compatible single or 6 disc in-dash CD changer and a choice of 2 or 4 speakers. You can even get a satellite navigation audio system built in with the new Hilux!
Safety features of the Toyota Hilux include anti-skid brakes, driver and passenger SRS airbags, front door anti-intrusion beams, a collapsible steering column and seatbelt pre-tensioner – to name just a few of the premium safety features on offer.
The new Hilux comes with a sizable genuine options list for those who wish to customise their truck. A rear tow bar, front bull bar, alloy nudge bar, super winch, driving lights and many more additions may grace your own Hilux ute if you so desire.
If you want a tough, on-off road pick-up truck, look no further until you’ve properly reviewed the Toyota Hilux. It is just the vehicle you’re looking for.
