Only the one model of the latest Kia Soul is available, and that’s the Si version.  You have a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed auto transmission.  You know, it’s actually the design of the all-new Soul that grabs me.  No, it’s not your conventional sedan, hatch or even station wagon.  It’s kind of got a bit of van, a bit of mini SUV and a bit of hatch in the Soul’s new looks.  I guess it’s the uniqueness and the balanced lines that make the Kia Soul 2015 MY model really work for me.  Chic looking headlights and tail lights, a long and low roof line, high waistline and the chunky nose sets the car apart beautifully.  If you like something a little different for parking inside your garage at night, then this is an ideal car for you.  Maybe you have a small family – all the better.  Even businesses should be on the lookout for a vehicle like this, as the eye-catching design will draw eyes to your advertisements and business logos on the sides of the vehicle.  Boring cars just can’t do that.

I was amazed to find that the new Kia Soul 2015 MY has a 2.0-litre petrol engine under the bonnet.  The in-line 4-cylinder engine has DOHC technology and 16 valves.  Though the car doesn’t set the performance world alight, the 113 kW engine is very willing and smooth.  A useful maximum torque of 191 Nm comes on song at 4700 rpm.  Relaxed driving, with some power for overtaking, are the qualities of the new Kia Soul 2015 MY engine.

On the road, the ride is comfortable and well-planted.  Having a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic option available, the Kia Soul 2015 MY has long legs on the motorway.  This sort of cruising ability aids the extra-urban fuel economy which for the manual averages around 6 litres/100 km.  The auto variant manages around 6.5 litres/100 km.

Being, officially, called a five-door hatch, the Kia Soul 2015 MY isn’t big and bulky, which is great if you’re in and out on town errands.  The overall length is 4140 mm, width 1800 mm and height 1619 mm.  These dimensions are easy to manoeuvre around congested parking.  What you’ll be amazed at is the amount of space inside the new Kia Soul.  Leg room is good for rear seat passengers, and the luggage space is class leading.  With the under-floor tray also used, the Kia Soul 2015 MY can swallow 532-litres of luggage with the rear seats up.  When the rear seats are placed flat, the luggage space increases to a massive 1402 litres.

There’s no need to worry about parking in a dark alley for the night.  Kia has the new Soul kitted out with a sophisticated anti-theft immobiliser system.  When you come to entering the vehicle at night, the Kia Soul 2015 MY has a welcome headlamp escort function that lights up around the car for safety.  This is especially nice for the ladies.  Remote central locking with a keyless entry for the boot release makes for easy access into an interior that is fun and modern.  The dash is simple and effective, perhaps slightly low-cost in the type of plastics materials used, yet it is very functional.  The large information display screen in the centre of the dash looks nice.  Steering wheel mounted controls work the audio and Bluetooth functions, and seating is comfortable and pleasant on the eye.  Cloth trim covers the seats.

Designers at Kia have not skimped on safety features, in fact the Kia Soul 2015 MY is loaded with the latest features for both active and passive requirements.  A five-star safety result for ANCAP crash testing can’t be bettered, so you can rest assured that features like ABS, EBD, BA, ESC and TCS are working to keep you on the right track.  In the event of a major accident, the Kia Soul is equipped with driver and front passenger SRS airbags, front side SRS airbags (pelvis & thorax protection), curtain SRS airbags (head protection), front seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters, side door impact beams and impact sensing auto door unlocking for keeping you safe.  A reverse camera and parking sensors are standard features for making things easy in the car parking building.

Not only does the new Kia Soul provide plenty of luggage space, the vehicle comes with roof rails, luggage net hooks and a luggage screen for extra carrying practicality.  Cruise control is ideal for keeping to the speed limits – a must with all the radar detectors on our roads.  A multi-function trip computer keeps you in touch with your journey’s progress.  Air ducts under the front seats angle fresh air through to the rear seat passengers, while the main manual air-conditioning system keeps you evenly temperate inside the cabin.

You’ll enjoy the new Kia Soul’s sound system; it boasts six speaker sound and all the latest connections for your favourite music.  Bluetooth is standard, and has the ability to connect to phone requirements for communication as well as live music streaming.

Well, that’s it in a nutshell.  There are some very vivid and sophisticated colours available for the exterior of your new Kia Soul 2015 MY.  Inferno red or acid green are the two colours that tickle my fancy, however the Clear white is classy too.  Bright silver, Titanium silver and Cherry black are the other colours.
