Skoda’s growing, and with the growth in popularity comes the addition of a very special Superb model that is available in both Wagon and Hatch form.  Sitting 15 mm lower than the standard Superb models, this is a car that offers a scintillating, sporty drive.  Skoda’s new Superb Sportline adds dynamism to the package, with nice black gloss mirrors, black roof rails on the wagon or a black spoiler on the hatch, Sportline badging and unique alloys.  Privacy glass adds to the sleek Skoda Superb Sportline looks.

Inside, the Sportline variants are is a driver-focused environment with attitude and a sporty interior for all to enjoy.  The Sportline Superb has a multi-function display screen which is easy to select between function with the large touch screen in the centre of the dash.  A Sportline driver information display makes the driving experience special.  Sportline logos are placed throughout the cabin and add to the racier feel.  Silver foot pedals, bolstered sport leather seats, red accents and chrome trim adds to the Skoda experience.

Out on the road you can make full use of the lowered, sports-tuned suspension and the AWD, where you are rewarded with some superb grip and traction.  Cornering is sublime and the car is fast.  Both the Skoda Superb Sportline Wagon and Sportline Hatch boast the most powerful Skoda engine which is rated good for 206 kW and 350 Nm of torque from the extremely fizzy 2.0-litre petrol power plant.  There is a TDI version as well, which isn’t quite as quick but rides and looks just as hot.  Sportline models come equipped with an adaptive chassis control system which adjusts damping and steering on-the-go for a more connected ride.

The standard Skoda Superb Sportline car features a very nicely appointed interior that is both comfortable and roomy.  For its class it’s hard to find a roomier car than the Superb.  Dual-zone climate air-conditioning, an electrically adjustable driver’ seat, heated front seats, a powered hatch/gate that can be activated without the need for a key, special LED interior and ambient lighting, Bluetooth communications with a signal booster, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, phone integration, wireless phone charging, leather/alcantara interior trim or full leather paint a picture of sporty luxury machine that will be enjoyed by driver and occupants.

Some other nice technologically advanced features include things like autonomous braking, a driver alert system, cornering lights, front and rear parking sensors, a backing camera, lane assist, blind spot detection, keyless entry and start, electrically adjustable front seats with lumbar support, active radar cruise control, a park assist function (Basically, with this feature the Superb finds you a park and will park itself.), an upgraded infotainment/navigation system that offers great features for music and connection, and up to 10 different colours for LED ambience lighting.  An air-conditioned glove box and plenty of nifty storage options make this a great companion for the long haul.

If, like me, you love your sounds, then you will fall in love with the 610 W Canton sound system which plays music tracks in concert-like clarity.  There are 12-speakers throughout the cabin with a sub-woofer in the boot for that extra bass note.

As you may know, Skoda is owned by the VW/Audi Group, and the 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder petrol turbo engine is a proven performer.  In the Skoda Superb Sportline models the 206 kW is connected to the AWD system via the quick-shifting six-speed DSG transmission.  Open road travel is smooth, quick and rewarding with the effortless performance available at an instant.
