Agility and control comes down to the new Jaguar F-Type SVR providing, bang on, a 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear wheels.  F-TYPE’s All Wheel Drive uses Intelligent Driveline Dynamics software to adapt to road conditions, ensuring correct levels of front-to-rear torque are delivered when needed.  Torque Vectoring, Adaptive Dynamics and an Electronic Active Differential all work in unison to enhance the driving experience through increased body control, traction and feel.  Adaptive Damping technology assesses body motion and pitch rates at 100 times every second, and it adjusts the settings for each damper accordingly.  The Jaguar F-Type’s forged aluminium double wishbone suspension design offers precise handling and control and aids the strong, commanding communication that the driver gets via the steering wheel.  Then there is the lightweight aluminium body with a strong, stiff structure that’s a perfect light platform for a sports car as good, and as powerful, as the Jaguar F-TYPE.

So, in normal conditions virtually all engine torque is distributed to the rear wheels, delivering legendary Jaguar agility and handling.  Then once road conditions deteriorate and on slippery surfaces, such as grass and mud, torque can be balanced 50:50 between the front and rear wheels to maximise traction.  Don’t you just love it!  All this sexy Coupe styling, raw power and razor sharp control at your fingertips.

Slip inside the brand new Jaguar F-TYPE cabin, and the Jaguar flavour is evident the moment you enter.  You are seated low down which gives you the sense of the thrill of just being inside  the F-TYPE cockpit let alone driving one.  Sport leather seats are stitched to perfection and the simple, well laid out switchgear is easy on the eye.  Looking out over the bonnet in an F-TYPE is a thrill in itself, and you feel in touch with the road.

An 8-inch colour touchscreen is your single interaction point with the InControl infotainment system.  This system gives you direct control over navigation, music, phone, climate and many additional driver support systems including parking aids.  Dual-mode rotary switches control the elements of the on-board dual-zone climate control system which can deliver strong warm or nice cool air in an instant.  These dials also control the optional seat heating functions – a very nice touch on a cold winter’s day.

The new Jaguar F-TYPE SVR features the latest Configurable Dynamics system giving the driver the ability to define which characteristics are altered in Dynamic Mode.  This option also features the Dynamic-i system which can display G-Force and lap time as well as throttle, steering and brake inputs on the 8-inch Touchscreen for added driving excitement and information.

The 2019 Jaguar F-TYPE SVR is an impressive, sexy Coupe in its own right, delivering those flowing lines that are exquisitely proportioned and purposeful.  But you’ll be surprised, like I was, to note that the F-TYPE Coupé is large enough to take a full set of luggage or two sets of golf clubs, with up to 408 litres of boot space capacity available.   For ease of access, the tailgate can be opened or closed at the touch of a button.
