Honda fans have a brand new looking Accord which will be available for sale in Honda showrooms in 2020.  The 2020 Honda Accord has very similar design features to the recent Honda Civic.  The latest Honda Accord, true to form, will have around three trim levels with three engines and three transmissions from which a new buyer can select.  There will be the most affordable base model Honda Accord, then the mid-tier Sport models, while the top-spec Touring Accords will have all the luxury you could wish for.

Honda’s latest Accord is edgy and eye-catching.  The very modern exterior detailing has been penned by an artist looking to inspire a youthful breed of buyers.  It comes with bolder styling, LED light technology, and a totally new appearance around the front.  Sleek, slim-line headlights are capped with a bonnet-wide chrome lip that protrudes forwards.  The grill is bigger and flares outward at the top.  As you run your eyes over the rear of the car, the Accord’s Fastback styling looks very nice, and the boot line is high with a spoiler that has been incorporated into the boot lid itself – suggesting plenty of space in the trunk (473 litres to be exact).

Owners will also enjoy the beautifully crafted cabin that has nice colours and textures, and the 2020 Honda Accord provides a high-end interior that you can drive your family around and still feel classy as you do so.  When you open the driver and front passenger side doors in luxury trims, the seats will automatically move and adjust so you can easily enter the vehicle.  Then, once you’re seated, the electronic seat will automatically move back into the previous seating arrangement. This is quite an interesting feature that adds a little bit of luxurious flair to your family-size sedan.

Being able to accommodate a small family in comfort, the new Honda Accord might be smaller in length than the outgoing model but it boasts more interior room – true to the Honda brilliance we’ve come to enjoy.  Excellent leg and head room are available for rear seat passengers.  The boot space is large and will accommodate plenty of luggage.  Split-folding rear seats add to the Accord’s versatility.

Those on the lookout for a modern sedan will also appreciate the safety features that the new Honda Accord provides.  It is essentially a semiautonomous car (a car that can actually drive itself, but by law needs to have the driver in control at all times).  The brand new Accord has Lane Assist as standard, where the car’s system uses cameras and sensors to see where the road lines are and if the driver starts to stray, it beeps with a warning and then the car will actually correct its course automatically!

Another safety system on-board the new Accord is one that uses a small camera mounted in the dash display in front of the driver.  This camera tracks where a driver’s eyes are, and if it detects the driver’s eyes are not in the direction of the road, it issues a warning beep to redirect their attention.

2020 Honda Accord sedans can also come with a Smart Parking Assist feature.  The car’s computer will use its sensors and cameras to gauge whether the space you wish to park is big enough.  If it is, it will do all of the parking manoeuvre for you!  Features like blind-spot awareness, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigating braking, lane-keep assist, and road-departure mitigation are all safety features found in the latest Accord.  Being made of the very best quality steel and being capable of staged deformation in a serious collision the latest Honda Accord also has a very strong safety cell where it cocoons and protects its occupants if the collision is unavoidable.

How is the 2020 Honda Accord out on the road?  The car has nice handling characteristics where it will soak up the road undulations with ease but remain taut and in control.  It is commendably quiet, too.  There are a range of engines.  Base models will get the four-cylinder, 1.5-litre turbo-charged petrol engine with 141 kW.  Small but powerful, this little engine has the get-up-and-go when required.

Higher-end models come with the very brisk 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine where the extra punch is very noticeable.  The 185 kW is reminiscent of the lusty Saab 9000 Aero engines, and this Honda Accord can see off the 0-100 km/h dash in around six seconds.  The 2.0-litre turbo-four is torquey, powerful, and silky smooth.  You’ll also be amazed at how smoothly, quickly and easily this engine spins through to the red line.

The new Honda Accord also has a 2.0-litre, 156 kW hybrid option as well.  In this guise a healthy 5.0-litres/100 km combined fuel efficiency is in easy reach and will have you really enjoying the dollar savings that this model will give you.

An 8-speed automatic, 10-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual transmission are the options for your new Honda Accord.
