Infiniti QX80

Well now, here is something a little different.  The new Infiniti QX80 is a beautiful big SUV to drive.  This is a big machine that boasts the same sort of intimidating presence a Range Rover, Lexus and Patrol portray.

One of the unique features of the Infiniti QX80 is that it has a hydraulic body-motion control system.  The results are a superior ride over all road and off-road surfaces.  This is a very special “show-offy” feature that has a distinct one-up on any other luxury 4WD SUV.  As the QX80 is controlled so well by this system, the grip levels are enhanced for optimum traction.

The Infiniti QX80 ride height provides a commanding view of the road, traffic and pedestrians ahead.  You feel very safe in a QX80, not only because the vehicle feels solid and in control, but also because it is loaded with all sorts of wonderful safety technology.  Power comes from a big V8 5.6-litre petrol engine that boasts 298 kW.  Hills and towing are effortless with so much grunt driving the wheels.  A smooth marriage between the engine output and torque at the wheels is made by a silky smooth 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC), manual shift mode, and Snow and Tow modes.

Lots of exterior chrome and massive glossy alloy wheels create quite a seriously luxurious SUV statement.  The 14-spoke forged aluminium-alloy wheels are actually boast a massive 22-inch rubber footprint.  The nicely rounded front nose on the QX80 houses some sleek looking LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps.  This is a very classy SUV that looks very good in the city night life, but with the QX80 a gallop off-road is a walk in the park, too.  I imagine the Range Rover-type buyer could be very interested in having a look at this one.

You really are in the lap of luxury when you enter the Infiniti QX80 cabin.  There is so much space, and the leather-appointed seating is impressive.  The driver enjoys a 10-way adjustable, memory heated seat.  The driver’s seat is also climate controlled.  Sit in the front passenger seat, and your seat is also adjustable in 8-ways as well as being heated.  Beautifully crafted leather seats throughout the cabin set the tone for what is a very special SUV luxury experience.  In the dark, the sequential welcome lighting illuminated entry system works a treat and nicely lights up the cabin with a warm, bright ambience.  Of course, access to the Infiniti QX80 is via an Intelligent Key system which will keep any would-be thieves well away.

The push button ignition is another cool feature, while for those who like their musical sounds at their very best, Infiniti has provided the QX80 with a premium Bose Cabin Surround Sound System with digital decoding and an impressive 15-speakers.  Glorious audio sound is the result.

The Infiniti QX80 has all the modern features you would find, and more.  A Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, a USB connection port for iPod interface and other compatible devices, a special Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control System, a power sliding tinted glass sunroof, an Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation system with real time traffic updates, an Around View Monitor with Front and Rear Sonar Systems, an lots, lots more.  A third row of seats is also present.  Space inside the Infiniti QX80 is cavernous, and if you put all the rear seats flat, you could just about hold a tea party inside!  A massive sunroof can be slid open electronically for a view of the sky above, and even high definition screens are built into the back of the front-seat headrests for entertaining the occupants in the rear seats with a movie.

When you are travelling in something as refined and as big as the QX80, you are straight away at a safety advantage.  However, Infiniti does not stop with the size factor being the only safety feature one requires.  Airbags line the sides and front of the vehicle.  Intelligent Cruise Control (with full-speed range), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Distance Control Assist (DCA) – which is really cool at avoiding accidents, Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Blind Spot Intervention (BSI), an Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) with auto-levelling headlights, Backup Collision Intervention (BCI) and the Hydraulic Body Motion Control suspension system work at keeping all QX80 occupants very safe.
