I’ll let you in on a little secret: I love the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, in fact I’ve liked plenty of the previous models too because they are large enough without being ridiculous, comfortable for any length of journey, safe and formidable off the road.  On the tarmac they happily tick over, eating up the miles on any long journey with ease.  So, what’s in a 2021 model?  Let’s have a look…

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Interior

Currently Jeep have around five models of the latest Grand Cherokee for sale.  A petrol and a diesel motor are the choices for powering this luxury 4×4 SUV, and both do a great job of providing strong, effortless performance with smooth operation.  On a good day, you should get an average of around 10-11 litres/100 km fuel consumption for the ULP petrol and 7.5 litres/100 km for the diesel.  These figures, when put into perspective, are very good, considering the 213 kW, 3.6-litre six-cylinder ULP engine has 347 Nm of torque available, 4×4 Dual Range capability and a nice eight-speed automatic at the ready.  For the six-cylinder turbo-diesel, you’ll soon know that there is a hefty 570 Nm of torque to match the 184 kW of power under the right foot.  The diesel also runs with the smooth eight-speed auto.  Both engines do a great job of managing the grunt while maintaining the traction, and both the petrol and diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee luxury 4x4s will haul a hefty trailer: 2812 kg braked and 750 kg unbraked for the ULP and 3500 kg braked and 750 kg unbraked for the diesel.

As far as front seat occupant comfort goes, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is right up there with the best.  And when you take a look in the rear seats, the leg room is excellent and the comfort nice for people of all sizes.

ABS (antilock brakes), brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, alert/warning for collisions, blind spot sensors, crash avoidance with emergency braking at any speeds, cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, parking assistance that comes with a graphical display, EBD (electronic brake force distribution), hill descent control, a hill holder system and a trailer sway control system are reasons why you want to be in a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  These are safe family wagons!

Top of the range Limited models come with a powered tailgate, electronic seats and mirrors with memory, a nine-speaker sound system with active noise cancellation (six-speakers on other models), a sub-woofer, electronic and heated front seats with power lumbar support and 2-zone climate control – all to match the breath-taking quality leather interior (especially in the Limited models).

But now I’ll let you in on an even bigger secret!  Your choice gets a little harder!  Jeep is about to bring out the 2022 Grand Cherokee model; so maybe you might want to grab yourself a bit of a deal on a new 2021 model while smiling all the way to the bank.  Or, maybe you’ll prefer to hang about and wait for the impressive new 2022 Grand Cherokee that will be coming to Australia sometime soon.  I’ve seen the latest variant and it is a sensational 4×4 packed with luxury and comfort.  It looks the bees knees; and it needed to be, with the advent of some pretty recent stiff competition available for 4×4 buyers.
