What’s better than a Jeep Grand Cherokee?  A 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hybrid!  Here is the latest Jeep Grand Cherokee offering all the 4×4 ability we love, all the luxury we love, and now with a more frugal and friendly hybrid power plant we love. 

Nicely understated, the Grand Cherokee has always been a favourite of mine.  The smoother, rounder 2024 exterior slips cleaner through the air, while the interior has copious amounts of space for travelling on and off the road in complete luxury and comfort.  The 4×4’s underpinnings allow for some serious off-road capability, only being dampened by the level of driver skill and courage. 

Now offered with a hybrid petrol (ULP)/electric power plant, the brand new 2024 Jeep Cherokee 4xe 4×4 SUV delivers plenty of punch without omitting as many emissions or providing such a big dent in your wallet each time you need to fill her up.  The 2.0-litre turbo ULP ICE motor combines with electric motors to provide an output of 200 kW (with a 280 kW over boost) and 400 Nm (637 Nm over boost) of torque.  A 0-100 km/h sprint time should settle within the vicinity of 5–7 seconds, making this a swift 4×4 for any occasion.  When running about town, Jeep’s hybrid system is excellent, allowing the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe 4×4 to return a combined fuel consumption average of a little over 3 litres/100 km. 

Out on the open road, the ULP motor is strong and willing, and remains refined when covering long distances at a time at high speeds.  There are few other vehicles in which occupants can feel quite as comfortable travelling long distances.  Seating space is roomy in both the front and rear seats, and the refined 2024 Cherokee is quiet and unruffled by road undulations, differing road surfaces, or any wild weather events. 

Big load carrying capacity makes this large 4×4 SUV a winner on any family adventure, and the ability to tow a heavy trailer gives the owner of this vehicle plenty of options for towing caravans, boats, and horse floats.  All new Jeep Grand Cherokees are very safe, with all of them boasting a 5-star safety rating. 

What features can you expect to find on-board the new Jeep Cherokee Hybrid?  There’s crash avoidance technology, anti-trailer sway, hill descent control, hill start assist, park assist technology, 360 degree camera vision about the vehicle that is displayed on the infotainment touchscreen in the centre dash when needed, electronic headlights with self-levelling capability, GPS satellite navigation and maps, rain sensing wipers, electric and heated seats, electric windows, electric mirrors, a powered tailgate, digital radio, a 19-speaker sound system, active noise cancellation, ambient lighting, 4-zone climate control, voice recognition and control, and keyless entry and start – just to name a few.  There are loads more features to list but time fails me. 

The 2024 Jeep Cherokee 4Xe 4×4 SUV boasts some of the most eye-catching and vivid exterior colours and toning I’ve seen to date – 8 colours in total – my favourite being the Hydro Blue.  Few 4x4s look quite as classy as the big Grand Cherokee, and when it’s seen in Bright White it’s a clean sophistication that captures your eyes.

The hybrid version is a loaded machine with all of the luxury and latest tech Jeep can provide.  However, there is an option you can add to this model: the Advanced Technology Group package (around the $5500 mark at the time of writing), which includes features like a heads-up information display, a night vision display screen, advanced wireless charging, and a premium paint job with an extra sheen for a bit more ($1750 at the time of writing).

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is my pick of the current 4x4s.  And when Jeep says 4×4, they mean it – doing exactly what it says on the tin, taking you places you’d otherwise only dream of going.  Now with hybrid technology, the new 2024 Jeep Cherokee 4xe 4×4 is an SUV you’ll be proud of owning.
