Take the Ssangyong Actyon Sports Tradie for a drive, and the excellent road handling and quietness makes for a relaxed drive. Underneath the work ute lies a ladder frame chassis for toughness, while the double wishbone suspension at the front, and the modern coil spring five-link suspension at the rear, keep the Ssangyong Actyon Sports Tradie at the top of the class for handling. Along with the nice face-lift job, the gurus at Ssangyong have improved noise vibration levels, so the ride is fantastic. Heck, it’s a work ute after all.

The Tradie and SX have a choice of 2WD and 4WD models, it’s just that the 4WD, while it works fine, isn’t as sophisticated and easy to use as the SPR’s wizardry.

Engine power is excellent, and you’ll appreciate the way the Actyon Sports Ute gets down to business. The modern Common Rail 2-litre Turbo-Charged Turbo Diesel Engine develops 114 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque. It never feels breathless – I guess that’s why they’ve rated the ute for towing loads as heavy as 2300 kg. Along with remarkably good fuel consumption figures of 7.3 litres/per 100km and CO2 emissions as low as 192g/km, this is the ute to buy. It is a class leader in power and economy.
