Suzuki Baleno

Gliding along in a new Suzuki Baleno GL is both refreshing and satisfying.  Efficient, low-cost transport doesn’t get much better than in a new Suzuki.  Five-star safety and comfortable interiors are part of the packaging, and Suzuki dealership sales and service is traditionally excellent.  So what makes this little hatch a notable drive?  Let’s get a little closer and see why.

The first point of note is the new Baleno design.  As soon as I set eyes on the car, the lines are a dead give-away suggesting the car was a Suzuki.  That’s not to say that the car is boring -far from it – but it does suggest that the design cues Suzuki uses have been around a while and can be easily linked to the clever small-car manufacturer.  In much the same way as Mazda, BMW and Audi all have a strong link between models, so too does the Suzuki models; and the new Baleno is fresh and attractive to look at.  The large wrap over headlights and the compact chunky front end look distinctively Suzuki and are appealing on the eyes.  Very smooth lines hide the upright and spacious hatch dimensions, and clean and simple taillights finish the rear of the Baleno off nicely.

Open the rear hatch gate, and the luggage space is good – better than a Mazda 3 in fact.  It’s easy to see the 355 litres swallowing a good amount of suitcases.  Should the need arise, the rear seats can be 60:40 split folded down to take larger items.  With the back of the rear seats folded flat, the Baleno is a large luggage carrier.

Nice lines continue into the interior of the brand new Suzuki Baleno GL.  Boasting a dash layout that has one of the easiest-to-use designs, it will be easy to live with a Baleno.  The instrument panel features stylish curved lines and silver accents – a blend that is appealing on the eye.  Each Baleno GL hatch has a competent, user-friendly multimedia system with an easy-to-follow satellite navigation system.  An Apple CarPlay feature gives plenty of entertainment and information capability, while a nice clear sound comes from the good little four-speaker sound system.  The 7-inch touch-display screen is simple to use and features the high-definition display screen for the reversing camera when reverse gear is selected.  Voice recognition can be used to map out a route, call your friends or enjoy your favourite music.  Bluetooth communications is a standard feature.  Electric windows, cruise control, an outside temperature gauge, reading lights, cup holders and bottle holders are standard features on a new Suzuki Baleno GL hatch.  This special little hatch provides excellent value for money.
