Equipped with ABS, SRS airbags and load limiter seat belts, the latest Nissan Tiida puts the wind up a number of the class leaders in the small car class. Roomy inside, comfortable seats and luxury features (often reserved for the larger car bracket) make the Nissan Tiida exceptionally good value. For a fraction over $20,000 you can own a car with leather seats a sunroof and four airbags!
Under the hood of all the Tiida cars is a powerful 1.8-litre petrol engine that delivers a nippy 93 kW. Not only does the car feel quick on the road, the chassis controls directional change very well – keeping the body well managed and the driver happy. All models boast either a four-speed automatic or six-speed manual. Fuel efficiency is a Nissan Tiida strong point, and all versions, whether auto or manual, boast a combined fuel economy figure well under 8 litres/100km.
With Nissan’s quality service and 3yr/100,000 km warranty the Nissan Tiida is definitely a buyer’s bargain.
Are you looking for that compact car that has everything you need? Well your wait is over, and the car is the Nissan Tiida (that’s pronounced Tee-da). At first looks, you will scratch your head and wonder “Wow, that’s small.” But small has its benefits and looks are deceiving. The Nissan Tiida offers room for five adults… Yes that’s five adults, and its compact size allows for manoeuvring in and out of those congested and tight places a breeze. Nissan have done a remarkable job of creating a very roomy cabin inside what is a small-to-mid-sized 1.8-litre hatchback and sedan. Some people will prefer the practicality of the Tiida hatchback design, where the 60:40 split folding seats make excellent use of a wagon-like luggage space. Loading items into the rear-end of the Tiida is easy with a wide gateway and low loading sill. Pleasant lines make the Nissan Tiida Sedan a good looker. I guess keeping the luggage stored inside a separate boot pace makes sense – especially if it’s smelly!
With its zippy and relatively powerful 1.8-litre 16-valve 4-cylinder petrol engine, the Nissan Tiida has enough power to cruise comfortably on those long highway trips. If the moment arises the very nicely matched six-speed manual gearbox can be used to powerfully gain acceleration to slip in and out of traffic, swiftly. Though all Nissan Tiida models come with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, an optional four-speed automatic with a lock-up torque converter is very relaxing to drive. One noticeable feature of the Nissan Tiida is how well muted both engine and wind noise is at the legal limits.
Variants and choice are numerous, so do try out both the Tiida Sedan and Tiida Hatch ST, and Ti models. The ST models have a great standard feature list, so if you are on the look out for one of Australia’s best priced, base model mid-sized deals, you will find the Nissan Tiida hard to better. An impressive array of options from form-fitting seats that provide extreme comfort for those long hauls to air conditioning, power windows, cruise control an AM/FM radio with CD player, front map lights and an illuminated boot area are what make the Nissan Tiida very pleasant to drive.
Though it may be compact, it certainly doesn’t mean safety is thrown out the window. The Nissan Tiida has quite a list of safety features including front and rear ABS anti-lock brakes, front driver and passenger airbags as well as front and rear side curtain airbags, height adjustable 3-point front seat belts, impact absorbing bumpers and an energy absorbing steering column. These are just a start. The Nissan Tiida offers a comprehensive safety package for an excellent price.
If great petrol economy and versatility is what you’re looking for in a mid-sized car, then you will want to seriously consider the nicely priced Nissan Tiida today!
