The matching of the manual gearbox to the engine power is pretty near perfect, and it’s enjoyable the way the gearbox snatches the gears with little time delay and a confident movement. The other alternative is the seven-speed DSG unit that feels very at home dawdling around town or dashing around intercity roads.

The compromise between comfort and sportiness is exceptionally accurate, meaning that the new Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet has a refined ride that doesn’t lose its rag once the fast corners come. Combined with the punchy engine performance, the car is a swift machine that brings out the smiles for all the driving enthusiasts.

Ease off the foot pedal, just a little, and you begin to appreciate the look of the snazzy golf Cabriolet interior design. Flowing dash lines, gorgeous refined materials and textures, combined with all the latest technology and colours do give the Golf Cabriolet the edge in interior satisfaction. Silver lined switchgear and instrumentation, easy touch buttons and beautifully comfortable seats give the big tick for that classy look and ergonomic pleasure.

There are plenty of on-board items that’ll have you thinking: what does this button do? Bluetooth communications, a multifunction display, satellite navigation, a rear-view camera, electrically adjustable front leather seats, a crystal clear sound system and cruise control start to give you the idea that this car was made to be enjoyed.
