No discussion of Volvo safety features would be complete without describing the innovative IDIS system that is found in more models than just the C30 2.4. This is based on technology originally developed in world of military aviation, and it is able to analyse your driving style and detect if things are getting a little tricky. If the IDIS recognises that you are negotiating something trickier than usual, the system shuts down all potential distracters, such as the audio system, and the optional navigation and Bluetooth phone (shutting down (or shutting up) passengers is up to the driver). This allows you to concentrate on your driving. Once things calm down, the audio, etc. reactivate.

What is unique to the Volvo C30 2.4 is the five cylinder 2.4 litre fuel-injected petrol engine. This power plant offers the driver 125 kW of power to play around with, and it’s extremely responsive to the signals from the right foot thanks to superb CVVT technology. In the Volvo C30 2.4, you can choose either the five speed manual or the five-speed automatic Geartronic transmission for extra driving fun.

The C-30 comes with three exterior colours as standard – black, red and white – that would make a great canvas for corporate branding, making the Volvo C30 2.4 an excellent addition to a corporate fleet.
