One of the best steals on the market today is the elegant new Volvo C70. This is a topless version of the 70 series that looks nice with the metal roof up or down.
A nice touch for the new C70 buyer is that the five-speed automatic costs the same as the six-speed manual. So your choice is based purely on whether you prefer moving the gears yourself, or not.
The C70 2.4 LE is very luxurious – as you would expect. And the C70 T6 boasts performance-plus – as well as all the bells and whistles.
Safe, solid performance makes owning a new Volvo C70 all the more tempting. All Volvo cars come with a three year/unlimited kilometre warranty.
Topless items are a thing of beauty. No less beautiful is the topless new Volvo C70. Yes the car has a retractable hard top, but there is nothing quite like motoring with the top down. Swedish beauties come in many shapes and sizes, and the suave, Swedish cabriolet offers room for four adults in total opulence.
Sliding into the seats of the sexy Volvo C70 is an activity a proud owner of the vehicle will enjoy every time they feel the urge to explore Australia’s coastline. Even a trip to the shops, school or work can be performed as a pleasurable experience. The smooth dash, leather sport seats, a three-piece retractable roof which raises or lowers in under 30 seconds, a European high-output stereo system, powered front seats, cruise control, ECC electronic climate control, a rain sensor, Bluetooth hands free technology, and a Road and Traffic information system make living with a Volvo C70 far from being uncomfortable. Speaking of comfort, the seats are sensationally superb! Stuff the lounge suite – you won’t want to recline anywhere else.
Two models are here in Australia for the taking. The Volvo C70 LE has a punchy 2.4 litre injected motor that offers smooth acceleration and high speed performance. Behind the wheel, the LE model is very well planted on the road, quick to respond to any change in direction and is extremely well refined. With 125 kW on tap, the Volvo C70 LE can perform the 0-100 km/h sprint in under ten seconds, and on the right stretch of road the car can be allowed to express itself well past 210 km/h. Apply the right foot on the Volvo C70 T5 version and the sprint takes a mere 7.6 seconds in manual guise, and the top speed lifts right the way up to 240 km/h. This is a Volvo with an aggressive engine that closes in on slower vehicles with a passion. Great power delivery and excellent handling provide the driving enthusiast with a real bolter.
Safety is Volvo, and that is why you can expect the Volvo C70 to be very, very safe. Safety systems include a door-mounted side impact protection system which inflates upward when activated. The curtain has an extra stiff construction with double rows of slats that are slightly offset from each other. This allows them to remain upright and offer effective head protection even with the window open. The curtain also deflates slowly to provide protection should the car roll over. The C70 retractable hardtop also features a roll over protection structure with two pyrotechnically charged roll hoops hidden behind the rear seats that deploy under roll-over conditions – whether the roof is retracted or not.
The new Volvo C70 model has Pininfarina genes, and it shows in the car’s graceful lines.
The current model series includes:
