Loaded with contemporary features and oh-so classy, the Mercedes Benz C-Class is a pure driver’s car. Equipped with all the latest and best automotive technology, you will find the C-Class has it all and is such an exact motorcar to drive.
All your performance bases are covered, with even the base models offering more-than-adequate get-up-and-go. Shatteringly quick, the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is the top performer in the range, and is arguably the best performance medium-sized car you can buy.
Adaptive braking, daytime running lights, ESD and ASR (acceleration skid control), thermatic climate control, a well ordered and sophisticated dash layout, an impeccable finish inside and out, and head and thorax airbags for the front occupants are some of the items that provide the Mercedes Benz C-Class with the epitome of mid-sized, family and sport-orientated transportation.
Driving a classy Merc can do all sorts of wonderful things for your ego – if you let it. If you don’t go on too much of a self-image trip, the C-Class is one of the best cars in the world you could own. They are pure class, pure style and pure performance.
A Mercedes Benz C-Class provides a great way of purchasing into a slice of Germanic paradise. Visually, the current Mercedes Benz C-Class is stylish and innovative. Indented lines accentuate the C-Class waistline. These grooves run along the side of the vehicle below the door handles. Side skirts, a low front air dam, and wing mirrors with LED indicators provide loads of exterior impact, and the balanced face of the C-Class boasts the big, bold and legendary three-pointed star. Large headlights are symmetrically mirrored, and deeply notched voids in an aggressive air dam design give a striking appearance. These voids are equipped for holding small driving lights as well as for forcing the air to move through these vents for greater stability, enhanced engine cooling and lower drag co-efficiency.
Available as a Sedan, Estate or Coupe, the new Mercedes Benz C-Class provides practicality as well as superior performance. In fact, the estate has up to a 1500 litres of luggage carrying capacity. If you like a little more sport in your package then the stunning Coupe models can’t be bettered.
Two 1.8-litre petrol engines are available that are tremendously quick to respond and smooth. The base engine provides 135 kW from its 1796 cc displacement, along with a healthy 270 Nm of torque. Tweaked, the same engine in the C250 BlueEFFICIENCY is capable of 150 kW and 310 Nm. The 0-100 km/h sprint is dropped from 8.2 seconds to 7.4 seconds, respectively.
Which is the performance model? There is, of course, the C-Class C63 AMG Sedan, Coupe and Estate versions that offer colossal performance in the medium-sized body. These highway stormers boast 336 kW and 600 Nm. A 0-100 km/h rush of well under five seconds should be enough to state just how quick these cars are.
The stand out version, in my book, is the talented Mercedes-Benz C350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. The car has a punchy 3.0-Litre turbo-diesel engine. Efficient and quick, the modern diesel engine block is as good as it gets for refined, proficient performance. Also available is a smaller 2.0-Litre turbo-diesel engine that is amazingly frugal; yet it still packs 400 Nm of torque for awesome, practical, everyday performance. There are other engines in the range, too.
You can have the C-Class equipped with all the luxury items you want. Anything from full leather to bluetooth communications, massive alloys to premium sound systems, and even DVD entertainment to satellite navigation, this is a car that is loaded with kit. It’s all there, so give some thought to how you want to kit out your incredibly voluptuous C-Class cabin. Remember, you get to choose the body style (Sedan Coupe or Estate).
Already, the Mercedes Benz C-Class has picked up many awards. Closer to home, the Australian Wheels magazine named it car of the year. These are the complete performers, which offer all the style, performance and luxury you need. Chassis prowess is superior, and nothing feels quite as balanced as a finely tuned C-Class chassis, blending a supple ride with sharp dynamics.
